揭開宇宙深處的面紗
國立臺灣大學天文物理所及「梁次震宇宙學與粒子天文物理學中心」所參加的國際合作實驗「南極脈衝瞬態天線」(Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna, ANITA) 於台北時間12月18日在南極升空。
ANITA 實驗由美國太空總署所特製的大氣球帶往距離地表 35 到 40 公里處的高空，聆聽來自南極冰原中的無線電波訊號，希望能藉由觀測來自宇宙深處的高能微中子，來揭開宇宙深處的祕密。
The Antarctic Impulsive Transient Antenna project serves to identify high energy neutrinos created by collisions between cosmic rays and the the cosmic microwave photons.
NTU's Leung Center for Cosmology and Particle Astrophysics ( LeCosPA) team was part of the international project that lead the airborne device to uncover the mysteries of the universe.
